Spirometry - Spirometry can help diagnose lung conditions like asthma, COPD, chronic bronchitis, emphysema, or pulmonary fibrosis. It can also be used to monitor how well a lung condition is improving or worsening, and if medications or inhalers are working properly.
ECG - Electrocardiography - An ECG can help diagnose heart conditions like arrhythmias, heart attacks, and coronary heart disease. It can also help assess the overall health of the heart before or after procedures, or after treatment for a heart condition. An ECG can help evaluate symptoms like shortness of breath, dizziness, fainting, fatigue, or palpitations. ECGs are often part of pre-procedure or preoperative exams.
HbA1c Tests- A hemoglobin A1C (HbA1c) test, also known as an A1C test measures the average blood sugar levels over the past two to three months and is used to screen for diabetes and pre-diabetes, as well as monitor the progress in managing diabetes. The test can help predict the risk of developing complications in the eyes, kidneys, nerves, and heart. Even in people without diabetes, high HbA1c levels can indicate metabolic dysfunctions which are linked to heart disease and dementia.
Urinalysis - A urinalysis is a way to find problems that need treatment, including infections or kidney problems. It can also help find serious diseases in the early stages, like kidney disease, diabetes, or liver disease.
Urine Pregnancy Test - A urine pregnancy test may be used to confirm a pregnancy or to evaluate symptoms of abdominal pain, or an abnormal menstrual cycle. A negative urine pregnancy test may be required before starting certain medications if there is a chance of pregnancy or as part of a preoperative exam.
Blood Glucose Testing- A glucometer will check the blood sugar level and is helpful in evaluating symptoms that could be related to high or low blood sugars, monitoring the effect of medications on blood sugar. Blood sugar is a helpful tool to understand how diet, exercise, and other factors affect blood sugar levels. A blood sugar analysis can also be helpful when decisions about food and physical activity, as well as tracking progress towards treatment goals.
Cholesterol Panels - A Cholesterol Panel or lipid panel can help predict your risk for heart disease and stroke. A lipid panel can be used to monitor your cholesterol levels if you have abnormal results from a previous test or other risk factors for heart disease. Testing can also help monitor your body's response to treatment, such as cholesterol medications or lifestyle changes. Lipid panels can also help diagnose other medical conditions, such as liver disease.
Hemoglobin test- A hemoglobin test can check for anemia, a condition where the body has fewer red blood cells than normal. This test may also be used to evaluate symptoms such as weakness, dizziness, fatigue, shortness of breath and cold hands and feet. A hemoglobin test can be used to check for certain deficiencies in vitamins and minerals, specifically iron.
Streptococcus group A Test- A Streptococcus A test, also known as a strep test, is used to evaluate symptoms of strep throat (sore throat, fever, swollen lymph nodes, red and swollen tonsils) and can help guide appropriate treatment quickly.
Cryotherapy - Cryotherapy is a treatment that uses extreme cold to freeze and remove abnormal skin tissue. It can be used to treat a variety of skin conditions, including benign lesions such as skin tags, verruca (warts), seborrheic keratosis (sun spots), molluscum contagiosum, and solar lentigo (age spots or liver spots). Cryotherapy can also be used to treat precancerous lesions: Such as actinic keratoses and certain low-risk skin cancers, such as basal and squamous cell carcinomas.
Vitamin B12 injections - Vitamin B12 is a vitamin that helps the body make DNA, red blood cells, and energy, and keeps nerve cells healthy. It's also known as cobalamin and cyanocobalamin. Vitamin B12 injections may be indicated to correct B12 deficiency, if you've had gastrointestinal surgery, or diseases that affect your gut. You may be deficient in vitamin B12 if you've been taking oral contraceptives for several years, or have certain dietary practices. Some people might also get B12 injections to boost their immune system before traveling, or to aid recovery after an illness.
Trigger Point Injections - Trigger point injections are used to treat pain in the musculoskeletal system, including: myofascial pain (pain involving the muscle, soft tissue or connective tissue), tension headaches: (often involving the tissues of the neck and upper back), and fibromyalgia. Trigger point injections can be an effective treatment because they can improve range of motion and functionality, reduce pain without the need for medication, and allow the body to heal itself. Trigger point injections work by injecting a local anesthetic into the trigger point. Lidocaine is a local anesthetic that blocks pain receptors in the nerves surrounding the muscle. This reduces the pain signals sent to the brain. The injection temporarily relaxes the muscle cord, which helps to break the pain-tension cycle, and also allows the muscle to regain blood flow. This helps to flush out pain modulators in the muscle.
Steroid Joint Injections - Joint injections can help with pain in joints like the knee, wrist, shoulder, and even the small joints in the hands or feet. Joint injections can reduce inflammation in joints that are painful and swollen, and can help treat conditions like arthritis, bursitis, gout, carpal tunnel syndrome, and tendinitis.
